Excellent Amp

I bought my amp with Webbindustries in Holland, I must say I am very satisfied, Mr, Rob van den Ent explained me all the important details about the linear and told me that his customers were very impressed.
I use the Amp with my IC756PROIII, after unpacking the Amp, I was on air in 30 mins, the amp is really easy to programm and very easy to work, it's fully automatic after I made the CAT cable, really great.
Amp is giving his full power (1 Kw) with 20 watts input on all bands. I didn't have to tune my Mosley TA63M because SWR is good on all bands.
I worked already some good DX, VK, ZL, with also good Audio reports.
This AMP came in place of my Acom 1000 and I do not regret, it's light weight, fully automatic and has a nice carrying bag if I want to take it for contest or fieldday.

The amplifier is worth every EURO spent, a top AMP, nice work SPE, keep it like that.

I used the SPE amplifier Expert 1K-FA for 2.5 days when operating at 1A0KM, in July 2007. This was on CW only, on several bands 80 to 10 metres.

I was very impressed. It looks very professional. It operated exactly as expected and was especially good in QSK (full break-in) mode, even at 35wpm and at 220 QSOs per hour, over long periods.

Congratulations to SPE. The watts per Kg ratio is very welcome to DXpeditioners: 1 KW for 20 Kg!

Very simple to use this amplifier, lot of power delivered, no problem to tune the antennas. Very nice to have 4 antenna connectors and 2 transceiver input. Only little problem is that the fans are everytime in rotation producing noise. Also, i was unable to use the amp with the CAT of the FT1000D, dont work, but using band-data connection the operation is nice. My rating not a real 5 but 4,5 ...hi

After 3 months of testing I can say: SUPER !
I'm a FlexRadio SDR-1000 user, the famous Software Defined Radio transceiver, the EXPERT 1K-FA is a perfect companion for it.

The Expert 1K-FA, using the CAT for RTX and his remote software control, wotk perfect and make an outstanding "on screen station" with SDR-1000.

All functions are performed via software, all is under the control of operator, all parameters on diaplay, all work great !

The power out is like promised with only 15/20W imput, all bands.

In my opinion, the EXPERT 1K-FA is the top linear amplifier in the solid state 1kW class.

I have been using during more than 25 years many amplifier models, specially at EA4ML (Multi/Multi Contest Station). I had the first Expert 1K-FA unit in Spain in November 2006. During last months, I have been able to participate in several contests as ARRL CW, WPX RTTY, etc., and my comment about this amplifier is simple: It seems as you have not an amplifer and your transceiver now provides a real 1000W. You can change from one band to other, and automatically the Expert 1K-FA detects it, and is ready to be on air again. No more tuning, fan noises, wait to be the valves ready to operate, etc. The antenna tuner works 100% OK.

I'm a proud owner, and I'm sure no more amplifier using valves will be at my station.

Someday all amplifiers will be as this is!

Got it just some days ago...seems to be the first one in OE...

First I had some problems with linking it to my IC-756Pro II. After some helpful hints by DL2KCK, Chris, the german dealer of the 1K-FA, it now works very fine ! Thanks, Chris ! The only thing working not the way I would like is the tuner...seems to be not a "full automatic tuner". If the SWR is bad the tuner not automatically starts to tune, I have to push the "TUNE" button. That will happen, when I choose another antenna for a band, not the one I stored in the CPU of the tuner. (My IC-2KL + AT-500 did it fully automatic)

But overall I'm really happy with the PA !
